WHAT TO EXPECT
Here’s what you can expect during your first visit:

Step 1: Comprehensive Assessment
Your initial visit will begin with a comprehensive assessment where we’ll take time to carefully review your medical history and any symptoms you may be experiencing.
These initial consultations typically last about 60 minutes because we believe in discussing all aspects of your condition to gain a thorough understanding.
No symptom is too small to mention—it all helps us form a complete picture.
Step 2: Pelvic Health Assessment
Your assessment will be tailored to you, your symptoms and your goals.
Depending on what brings you in, this may include assessment of movement, strength, coordination, breathing, and any areas of pain or discomfort.
Pelvic health physios are trained to perform internal examinations, which can provide valuable information; however, an internal examination is never a requirement.
We will discuss the assessment options with you, explain what they involve and why they may be helpful, and you can decide what you are comfortable with.
Other assessment options may include Real-Time Ultrasound, external assessment and observation.
Your comfort, privacy and consent are our highest priority. You are always in control of your assessment and can ask questions, decline any part of the assessment, or change your mind at any time.

Step 3: Education + Personalised Treatment Plan
Once we’ve gathered all the necessary information, your physiotherapist will explain the findings in detail. We want you to feel fully informed about what's happening in your body and why. Together, we will discuss your treatment options and create a plan tailored specifically to your needs and goals.
Your personalized treatment plan may include pelvic floor exercises, muscle strengthening, relaxation techniques, bladder and bowel training, targeted rehabilitation exercises, and a home management plan to support your ongoing recovery and health.
We’re here to guide you every step of the way, so you feel empowered and supported in your journey to better pelvic health.
What to Expect at Your Initial Consultation
At Women's Health Physio Mandurah, we aim to make you feel as comfortable and at ease as possible throughout your pelvic health journey.
We understand that pelvic health issues can feel personal, and we strive to take the awkwardness out of the process so you can focus on your well-being.
Your initial consultation is the first step toward understanding your body and working toward your health goals.
